Main Tasks
As an Azure Platform Engineer, your role centers around implementing, deploying, and maintaining Azure infrastructure and platforms. You are tasked with ensuring that Azure environments are managed effectively, keeping them secure, reliable, and high-performing.
- Deploy Azure Infrastructure: Lead setup and configuration of Azure resources like VMs, networks, and storage. Specialize in Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for containerized applications.
- Automation and Scripting: Use Azure CLI and IaC tools (Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible) to automate deployment and management. Optimize CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps for streamlined workflows.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Keep a close eye on Azure environment health, apply updates, and use Prometheus for detailed monitoring, ensuring systems are always at peak performance. “PagerDuty”
- Incident Response: Manage incident detection to resolution, including troubleshooting and implementing preventive measures for Azure services.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze and plan resource adjustments to meet changing demands, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Automation for Efficiency: Automate routine tasks to boost system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate for Improvement: Work with development teams, embracing continuous improvement and DevOps/SRE principles for better operational practices.
Your Profile
- Proven SRE experience with a deep understanding of Azure cloud services.
- Skilled in Azure administration and management, like AKS, Databases, DevOps Service; expertise in Kubernetes and AKS, including all dependencies such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- Experienced with automation tools and scripting languages.
- Knowledgeable in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiar with Azure monitoring and logging tools such as PagerDuty and Grafana.
