Each year when we gather for Cisco Live!, we intentionally leave room in our schedules for something just as important as the sessions and keynotes: giving back to the local community that hosts us. This year in San Diego, 13 members of the Bucher + Suter team spent a day at Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), an organization close to many of our hearts.

Why We Do It: The b+s Plus Promise
At Bucher + Suter, we’re more than just tech experts and contact center geeks; we’re parents, friends, neighbors, and humans first. That’s why we created the b+s PLUS Program, which we aligned to Pledge 1%, with our commitment to give 1% of our time, 1% of our product, and 1% of our profit to causes that matter. It reminds us that success should lift up everyone, not just our bottom line.
Our day at RMHC San Diego is one small but meaningful way we try to live that out.

A Mission That Hits Home
The mission at Ronald McDonald House Charities is simple: to be a comforting home away from home for families whose children are in the hospital. It’s a mission that means a lot to us, not just in theory, but in real life.
One of our own teammates, Brad Movens, knows this better than anyone:

Having a child in the hospital for an extended period is incredibly stressful. I know this firsthand because my son was born with a heart defect that required a lengthy stay in the hospital. During this time, our family stayed in a nearby Ronald McDonald House before transitioning to an extended stay accommodation. Having RMHC available for families as they navigate one of the most difficult times in their lives is a comfort you never truly appreciate until you need it yourself.

Sharing a Meal, Sharing Our Gratitude
While we were in town, our team came together to donate, prepare, and serve a warm meal for the families staying at RMHC San Diego. It was a small gesture, but we hope it brought a little bit of comfort and a reminder that they’re not alone.
We wanted to keep that spirit going, so we also pledged to donate $5 for every badge scan we collected at Cisco Live! 2025 directly to RMHC. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth, you helped make an even bigger difference.

Small Acts, Big Heart
We spend our days building tools that help contact centers deliver better care and connection, but days like this remind us of the power of human care in its simplest form: a meal, a kind word, a moment of rest.
To everyone at Ronald McDonald House Charities San Diego, thank you for letting us step into your world for a day. We left with full hearts and a renewed sense of why we do what we do.
